Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Deburr Technician for the 2nd shift to support Machining operations in Hawthorne, CA. The role involves interpreting drawings, deburring valve components, and ensuring tight tolerances through polishing, inspection, and passivation where needed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 1+ years in a factory setting or machining certification. Strong blueprint reading and CNC awareness are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 1+ years in factory/production or completion of a machining certification.
• Experience with deburr techniques using manual and automated equipment.
• Experience in a machine shop.
• Knowledge of basic blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of CNC machining.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 to maintain part specs.
• Deburr and process machined valve components.
• Chase machine cut threads to size.
• Polish surface finishes and inspect with profilometer.
• Wash parts and passivate using citric passivation when required.
• Assist with material inventory and prep for machining processes.
• Operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler with specified recipes.
• Meet productivity and production goals.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment.
• Keep products moving and notify management of issues.
• Provide continuous ideas for process improvements.
