The Associate Attorney role offers extensive courtroom exposure and the opportunity to handle a variety of litigation tasks in a dynamic team setting. You will review claims, manage a contested docket, and support all stages of litigation while adhering to firm and client standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and admission to the Kansas bar required.
• Additional licenses in states where the firm operates are valuable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Appear in court on behalf of the firm a minimum of three days per week.
• Review new claims for compliance with firm and client standards.
• Review and approve pleadings filed with the courts, including complaints and motions.
• Occasionally draft motions and responses for contested matters as needed.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage telephonic and written communication with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims involving the firm or its clients.
