Job summary

Regions Bank in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Debt Advisory Lead to drive the firm’s debt capital advisory platform, manage sponsor relationships, and oversee origination, structuring, and execution of transactions.

The role requires deep leveraged finance expertise and a proven track record in advising on capital structures, financing strategies, and M&A opportunities. You will mentor bankers and lead cross-functional teams to deliver client-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, economics, accounting, or related field.
• Ten or more years of experience in investment banking, private credit, leveraged finance, or related discipline.
• Experience leading debt advisory engagements and managing sponsor relationships.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Advises clients on capital structure optimization, refinancing, acquisition financing, recapitalizations, and other credit-related transactions.
• Develops market insights and strengthens relationships with lenders across banks, credit funds, and alternative capital providers.
• Leads the debt advisory platform including origination, structuring, and execution.
• Cultivates and grows relationships with private equity sponsors while serving as the primary point of contact.
• Drives the origination of debt advisory mandates and sponsor-driven M&A or financing opportunities.
• Leads the development of pitches, financial analysis, and client meetings.
• Represents the firm at industry conferences and networking events to enhance brand presence.
