Job summary

The Dean of Teachers at Great Hearts Arlington Lower School oversees instructional excellence by coaching teachers, developing professional development, and ensuring alignment with the Great Hearts classical curriculum. Reporting to the Headmaster, you will lead instructional initiatives and contribute to a culture of academic rigor and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in education or related field.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience.
• Experience in liberal arts or Great Books preferred.
• Strong coaching and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coaches and develops teachers to improve instructional practices.
• Leads professional development and in-service days.
• Assists in curricular alignment and material review.
• Participates in classroom observations and evaluations.
• Supports planning of academic events and parent communication.
• Ensures compliance with state regulations.
