Job summary

Great Hearts Arlington Upper School in Arlington, TX seeks a Part-Time Drama Teacher to deliver the Great Hearts curriculum, design thoughtful lessons, and foster a classroom that celebrates truth, goodness, and beauty.

Position Title: Part-Time Drama Teacher

Location: Great Hearts Arlington Upper School ( 6701 S Cooper St, Arlington, TX 76001 )

Reports To: Headmaster

FLSA Status: Salaried/Part-Time

Fine Arts at Great Hearts

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Required/Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
  • Certification is not required for general education
  • All majors are welcome
  • US Work Authorization is required.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
