Job summary

The Greenspire School is seeking a Dean of Students to provide student-centered leadership across the high school and middle school campuses in Traverse City, Michigan. The role focuses on student support, discipline, attendance, school climate, and daily operations with a one-year appointment for 2026–27.

The Dean will work with district and building administration to create a safe, connected environment where students are known, supported, and able to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with middle and/or high school students.
• Experience supporting student behavior, school climate, supervision, or student services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Commitment to Greenspire's mission and student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with students and serve as an accessible adult.
• Support student behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance needs.
• Coordinate with families and staff to address concerns early.
• Promote school climate grounded in belonging and accountability.
• Assist with disciplinary processes aligned with policy.
• Support attendance and truancy processes with administrators.
• Collaborate with district and building administration as part of leadership team.
• Maintain confidential student information and records.
