Job summary

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 is seeking a Dean of Students at Burnsville Alternative High School. The role focuses on leadership to support staff and students, with emphasis on equity and safe learning environments.

8-hour days, 184 days per year, compensation per unit agreement with the local education association. The candidate will work with a Principal Team to improve student growth, provide mentoring, and coordinate with families and outside agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student discipline, bullying, sexual harassment, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and build systems to support staff, schools, and the district in improving instructional capacity and equity.
• Assist the Principal Team in leading the building's efforts in a culturally competent, racially inclusive learning environment.
• Lead design and implementation of instructional delivery and professional development aligned with the district plan.
• Coordinate with district and community partners on related programs and safety.
• Counsel students and coordinate referrals for testing, guidance, or other services.
