Job summary

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 is seeking a Dean of Students for Nicollet Middle School. This administrator will provide leadership to support staff, students and the district while advancing instructional equity and a safe learning environment.

The role includes partnering with the principal team, shaping discipline policies, mentoring students, coordinating with families, and aligning professional development with school-improvement plans. Hours are 8 per day, 184 days per year.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding student discipline.
• Knowledge of student behavior management techniques.
• Knowledge of dispute resolution techniques and ability to engage in dispute resolution.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and build systems to support staff, schools, and the district in increasing instructional capacity.
• Assist the Principal Team in creating a culturally competent and racially inclusive learning environment.
• Lead design and implementation of the district's instructional delivery and professional development.
• Assist in district planning and improvement processes.
• Assist in resolving academic and non-academic student issues in the school.
• Coordinate with community and government agencies relating to student conduct and safety.
