Job Overview
Mooseheart Child City and School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Dean of Students to support and enhance a positive school culture. The Dean of Students is a key leadership position focused on student discipline, behavior support, policy implementation, and fostering strong relationships across campus. This individual plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment, while supporting both academic and behavioral success for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce the school’s code of conduct through fair and consistent practices.
- Conduct administrative interventions and maintain accurate behavioral records.
- Support teachers with classroom management strategies and behavioral planning.
- Collaborate with Family Teachers, counselors, and the School/Home Liaison to support student needs.
- Monitor daily attendance and follow up on student absences.
- Organize and supervise student activities, including athletic events and school dances.
- Participate in training and implementation of the Mooseheart Model of Care.
- Assist with planning faculty meetings and onboarding of new staff.
- Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout the school day.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a school setting, with leadership or behavioral responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and student development skills.
- Familiarity with restorative practices and trauma-informed care preferred.
- Knowledge of or experience with the Mooseheart Model of Care is a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
