POSITION SUMMARY
The Dean of Students is a highly visible member of BART’s team who plays a critical role in setting a positive school culture. As a member of the school administrative team, the Dean is expected to build relationships within the school community by collaborating with students and faculty in various aspects of school life. The Dean will maintain strong interpersonal skills and be able to set clear expectations for conduct by upholding and communicating BART’s values of purpose, curiosity, effort, integrity, reflection, and respect. The Dean supports the daily operations of the school—especially those related to attendance, discipline, and student activities—and supports programming for classroom management and PBIS implementation strategies. The Dean of Students assists at all levels in maintaining a safe and secure school environment, including school-wide PBIS, building supervision and safety planning, student conduct and discipline management, and community resource referrals and service engagement. This is a school-year position reporting to the Principal.
