Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools in Memphis, TN, seeks a Dean of Scholars to lead culture, instruction, and student support across campuses. The role focuses on weekly reflection of culture data, coaching staff to meet PD goals, and driving Tier 2/3 interventions with families and counselors.

The ideal candidate holds TN teaching and administrative licenses, has 4+ years of exemplary teaching, and excels in urban school leadership, engagement, and policy alignment with TN standards and ACT readiness.

Qualifications

• TN teaching license and admin licensure required.
• 4+ years of exemplary teaching experience (levels 4–5).
• Experience in school leadership, charter school, and/or urban school environment preferred.
• Ability to increase both scholar and staff engagement.
• Strong knowledge of TN state standards, Common Core, and ACT College Readiness standards.

Responsibilities

• Reflect weekly on culture data to determine how teachers are progressing toward the goals, the subset of teachers that need skill-building, and overall staff development PD needs.
• Coach all staff toward the Week 4 goal in collaboration with the PBIS Team and counselor.
• Intensively coach 1-3 teachers at a time as assigned.
• Plan/facilitate practice-based culture PD aligned with the Practice-based PD framework.
• Reflect weekly on culture data to identify students who need Tier 2 support and, with families and counselors, create Tier 2/3 support plans.
• Maintain an overview tracker of Tier 2 and 3 interventions and ensure access logged into Review 360 and/or PowerSchool.
• Oversee onboarding for families and set the tone for collaboration and policy understanding.
• Monitor teacher call logs for quality and attrition risk indicators.
