Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL seeks a Dean of Nursing to lead, develop, implement and expand the college’s Nursing Program. The Dean provides administrative oversight and partners with regional healthcare leaders to advance student learning and program excellence.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in nursing, an active RN license (Florida licensing if out-of-state within 6 months), and at least three years of collegiate teaching. Salary is negotiable and posted until filled.

  • Current/active RN license; Florida licensing within 6 months after hire if out-of-state.
  • Fingerprinting and substance screening required; fees paid by candidate.
  • Excellent communication and managerial skills.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.

This position provides administrative oversight and stewarding of annual grants/gifts. The Dean is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive and consistent community outreach with regional healthcare leaders and organizations and building positive and effective relationships with nursing faculty. The Dean reports directly to the AVP for Academic Affairs to support and promote the quality of student learning and success.

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in nursing field (Doctorate or equivalent preferred).
  • Must hold a current/active RN license. (Exception: Out of state applicants must obtain Florida Licensing within 6 months after hire).
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required. (Exception: Out of state applicants must obtain Florida Driver’s License within 6 months after hire).
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and substance screening. The candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fees (currently $36.00/$65.15). The fingerprinting and substance screening fees are non-refundable. For out of state applicants, HR staff can assist applicants with local services to provide fingerprints versus traveling to Florida for that purpose
  • Excellent Communications and Managerial Skills.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience at the collegiate level (Preferred).
