Job summary

Fortis College in Cincinnati is seeking an Assistant Dean of Nursing to provide leadership in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program. This role supports community and health‑care system needs and fosters a culture of collegiality, well‑being, and professional development for students, faculty, and staff.

The Dean/Director represents the program to College administration, accreditation bodies, Education Affiliates Nursing Division, and local advisory

Qualifications

• Current active unencumbered RN or APRN license in Ohio (multistate privilege acceptable).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (Doctoral degree required for Dean).
• At least five years of RN practice, with at least two years as a faculty member in nursing education.
• Minimum of one year of administrative or management experience.
• Competence with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
• Excellent written, oral communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to be a positive, supportive, enthusiastic role model.
• Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening, immunizations, and CPR and HIPAA certification.

Fortis College in Cincinnati has a current opening for an Assistant Dean of Nursing . Fortis is affiliated with Education Affiliates a company with approximately 50 post-secondary schools nationwide, with over 20 of these locations offering nursing programs. These s chools are known as Fortis College, Fortis Institute, Denver School of Nursing, and St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Our programs range from practical nursing to BSN degrees.

Position Description:

The Assistant Dean of Nursing is responsible for helping to provide leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program . The person in this role will assist with the responsiveness by the program, to the needs of the community and the health care system , as well as , f oster within the program, an organizational culture that supports collegiality, personal well-being, and professional development of students, faculty, and staff . The Dean/Director also serves as the representative of the program to the College/Campus administration, regulatory and accreditation bodies, Education Affiliates Nursing Division, the local advisory committee, and to other internal and external constituencies.

Requirements:

• Current active unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse or APRN in state of Ohio or multistate privilege to practice nursing in Ohio
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing (Doctoral degree in nursing or health-related major required for a Dean ).
• At least five years of practice experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two as a faculty member in a professional nursing education program.
• Minimum of one (1) year of successful experience in an administrative or management role.
• Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.
• Excellent written, oral communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to serve as a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic role model.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, appropriate immunizations, and CPR and HIPAA certification.
