Job summary

Shenandoah Conservatory seeks a visionary dean to provide strategic leadership for its academic and operational activities. The incoming dean will champion fundraising initiatives, strengthen financial stewardship, and guide the Conservatory through a major building campaign and growth plans.

They will oversee a senior leadership team and 125 faculty/staff across 27 programs, ensuring academic excellence, inclusive leadership, and collaboration with University leadership to advance student

Qualifications

• Earned terminal degree or equivalent professional experience in the performing arts.
• Leadership experience in academia or arts organizations.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Shenandoah Conservatory’s academic and operational activities.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and manage key donor relationships to support the campaign and growth.
• Oversee budgets, administrative operations, and a senior leadership team.
• Collaborate with University leadership and Advancement on campaign strategy and implementation.
