Job summary

Cecil College in North East, MD seeks a Dean of Arts & Sciences to provide visionary leadership over English, humanities, mathematics, sciences, DAMD, art, music, GED/ABE, and related labs. The Dean supervises instruction, planning, budgeting, and faculty evaluation.

The role requires in-person presence with telework allowed per policy; travel between North East and Elkton campuses is expected and interaction with students, staff and the college community is frequent.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required; doctorate preferred.
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level required; a minimum 2 years experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years academic leadership experience, 5 years preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration and supervision of Arts & Sciences programs.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal regulations.
• Lead curriculum development and program assessments.
• Manage budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to staff and faculty; ensure cross-training/coverage.
• Recruit and evaluate faculty and staff.
• Participate in required reporting and advisory boards.
• Support student success initiatives.
