Job summary

Tarrant County College in Fort Worth is seeking a Coordinator, Work-Based Learning at the Trinity River Campus. This managerial role oversees daily operations within the work-based learning program and may include some non-credit instructional responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a field related to academic affairs/work-based learning.
  • At least three years of related experience in work-based learning or academic programs.
  • Experience in managing internships or partnerships preferred.

Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $70,400; Commensuratewith education and experience

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Summer hours, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am- 6:00 pm

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remotework

Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing managerial level work,overseeing daily operations of their department, program, or majorprocess focused on academic affairs' work-based learning efforts,potentially including some non-credit instructionalresponsibilities. This position is also responsible for assistingin determining the direction of the department or program,monitoring program budgets, and leading institutional and communityoutreach.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Performs complex administrative and technical functions for thecolleges work-based learning efforts
  • Oversees daily operations, working efficiently and effectivelywith students, faculty, and employers
  • Makes technical decisions by applying policies, regulations, andprotocol
  • Manages community outreach and knowledge of associatedorganizations as a resource
  • Develops and facilitates training to educate businesses, faculty,and students in work-based learning benefits and bestpractices
  • Tracks students (application, placement, success, failures,coaching, skills, etc.) to meet program criteria and provides otherdata related to the work-based learning program
  • Facilitates marketing of work-based learning opportunitiesthrough advertising, presentations, and event collaborations, suchas experiential learning fairs, educational events
  • Monitors and updates content on the website to maintainaccuracy
  • Evaluates work-based learning programs, creates reports, andcompletes forms needed for work-based learning for students,businesses, and faculty; collaborates to make improvements asneeded
  • Leads work based learning processes and procedure improvements bypartnering with faculty, deans, and other colleagues
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external communityorganizations and associations as assigned to support the essentialperformance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite
  • Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege
Supervision
  • Works under the general supervision of the the assigned campusleader

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree and three (3) years' working experience relatedto the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalentcombination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year's working experience in a college oruniversity setting related to the Essential PerformanceRequirements
  • At least one (1) year's working experience managing internshipsand apprenticeships
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience coordinatingagreements to support work-based learning, apprenticeships,internships, or employer partnerships
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of student learning outcomes (such as marketable skillsachieved), and how to document
  • Knowledge of best practices and guidelines for work-basedlearning program to meet standards
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonalrelationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicateproblems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work arevaried, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems,including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, andpresentation software
