Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in East Chicago, IN, seeks a Dean to serve as the principal academic and administrative leader of the School. You will lead planning, budgeting, staffing, curriculum development, and instructional quality to advance student success and workforce readiness.

Reporting collaboratively, you will promote the School and College with industry and transfer institutions, while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required, preferably in a related field OR a Master’s degree in any field with 18 credit hours in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years applicable industry experience
• Minimum five years related teaching experience
• Meets faculty credentials per ASOM 7.1 for at least one program within the division for which oversight is assigned
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and maintaining currency in the field.
• Demonstrated competency in supervision and leadership.
• A combination of industry with teaching/training experience may be considered in lieu of specific years’ experience noted above.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate academic planning with senior academic leadership to support mission and strategic planning.
• Oversee curriculum development, program review, and resource allocation to meet student and workforce needs.
• Coordinate enrollment management and enrollment-related activities with Student Affairs and Marketing.
• Manage School budget and financial planning with data-driven analysis.
• Supervise, hire, train, and mentor faculty and staff; assign schedules and workloads.
• Provide student advising support and monitor student success.
• Participate in committees and professional associations to advance School and College interests.
• Foster external partnerships and articulation with four-year institutions and industry.
