Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (ASDB) in Hereford, TX seeks a Deaf Mentor Coordinator to provide parent education for the Deaf Mentor Program in coordination with Early Learning and IDEA Part C services. Travel is required to deliver services, including home visits, in person or via remote learning, with curriculum tailored to deaf and hard of hearing children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies or related field required.
• A minimum of 4 years professional Deaf Mentorship experience or related experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of IDEA Part C (0-3) and Deaf Culture & History.

Responsibilities

• Provide parent education for the Deaf Mentor Program in conjunction with the Early Learning Program and Arizona Early Intervention Program.
• Travel is required for delivery of services and conducts home visits.
• Schedule and conduct instruction in person and via remote technology; select curriculum to meet needs of deaf and hard of hearing children.
• Create and maintain reports and documentation in compliance with federal and state laws.
