Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Leave Replacement for the 2026-2027 school year to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Requires a Washington State special education teaching certificate with Deaf/Hard of Hearing training and a bachelor’s degree; a master’s is preferred.

You will collaborate with a team of educators and service providers, implement health care plans, and use ASL and technology to support language acquisition and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Washington State special education teaching certificate with Deaf/Hard of Hearing training
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
• Ability to work with culturally diverse students and families; strong ASL proficiency
• Experience with health care plans and medically involved students; use of assistive tech is expected

Responsibilities

• Teach Deaf/HH students and develop language acquisition programs
• Coordinate a team of teachers, staff assistants, and service providers
• Review research and provide professional development on Deaf/HH strategies
• Use computers for instruction, IEPs, and assessment; maintain progress records
• Collaborate with teams to communicate the impact of hearing loss on learning
