Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year in the Seattle, WA area. The itinerant position involves in-person, school-based work with travel between sites, roughly 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, August 27, 2026 to June 19, 2027.

The role requires a valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement and a credential (Bachelor's or Master's in deaf/deaf education or related field).

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in deaf education, special education, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Assess students' communication, language, academic, and accessibility needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs.
• Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to support student access.
• Consult with general education teachers and school teams regarding accommodations.
• Support the use of hearing technology, assistive devices, and communication systems.
• Collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate progress notes, service records, and educational documentation.
• Travel between assigned school sites as needed.

Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. We are a women- and therapist-founded company that values collaboration, professional support, and meaningful work with students and school communities.

Job Highlights:

• Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
• Setting: In-person and school-based
• Schedule: Full time, approximately 8:00 AM-3:30 PM
• Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
• Dates: August 27, 2026-June 19, 2027
• Grade Levels: All grade levels
