Job summary

Schoolforce Solutions Inc. is seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) for the upcoming school year in Maryland.

The hourly wage ranges from $48 to $55, with opportunities to impact student achievement through individualized instruction and collaboration with support staff. The role requires a relevant degree and state licensure or eligibility, ASL proficiency preferred, and experience with assistive listening devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field.
• MSDE Deaf and Hard of Hearing license or eligibility before start.
• ASL fluency preferred; other communication methods acceptable.
• Experience with assistive listening devices, cochlear implants or hearing aids preferred.
• Criminal background checks and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students one-on-one and in groups.
• Develop and implement IEPs and 504 Plans where applicable.
• Use ASL, cued speech, listening and spoken language strategies as needed.
• Adapt curriculum and lessons to ensure accessibility for DHH students.
• Collaborate with general education and special ed staff to support success.
• Teach self-advocacy, communication strategies, and independent living skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Provide training to teachers on accommodations and assistive devices.
• Maintain records in compliance with MSDE, state regs, and IDEA.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices and technology for DHH students.
