Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking an Educational Interpreter II to provide transliterating/interpreting services for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in New Hanover County Schools. This ten-month, non-exempt role reports to the Principal/Director of Special Education and Related Services.

Required qualifications include an Associate Degree in Educational Interpreting, 2+ years in an educational setting with a Level 3+ on EIPA or equivalent licensure, and 15 hours of annual LEA-approved interpreter training.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Educational Interpreting from an accredited program.
• Two or more years of experience in an educational setting and a score of Level 3 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Proficiency Assessment or licensure from RID/NAD or TEC Unit.
• Annually complete 15 hours of training related to interpreting approved by local education agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide transliterating/interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing within New Hanover County Schools.
