Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Warrenton, VA seeks a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide direct special education services within school settings. The role requires collaboration with SLPs, audiologists, interpreters, and regular IEP participation.

The candidate will develop language and academic goals while ensuring accessibility with hearing technologies, ASL or Total Communication as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Virginia Teaching License with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students per IEPs.
• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans to support language, communication, academic achievement, and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, SLPs, audiologists, interpreters, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility meetings, and progress reviews.
• Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure communication access.
• Monitor progress and complete required reports.
• Support students with hearing technology and accommodations.
• Provide consultation to staff on strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress and planning.
• Maintain district compliance with policies and regulations.
