Job summary

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Coordinator at South-Central LA Regional Center (SCLARC) supports expansion of deaf service resources in the Los Angeles catchment area, provides training to staff, and coordinates with DDS on statewide efforts.

The role serves as the regional center’s subject matter expert on services for the deaf and hard of hearing, develops resources, collaborates with vendors and DDS, and ensures compliance with Title XVII and Lanterman Act while improving

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; ASL fluency required.
• Two years’ experience in providing program support with individuals with developmental delay.
• Fluency in American Sign Language required.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with agencies serving deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
• Collaborate with vendors to expand resource pools.
• Serve as resource person for regional center staff providing services.
• Assess unmet community needs and develop resource plans.
• Participate in statewide collaboration to identify best practices.
• Organize trainings for regional center staff and vendors.
