Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind - ASDB is seeking an Intervenor or Intervenor Technician for the Oro Valley Campus. The role provides direct support to a student with deafblindness, following IEPs and implementing instructional strategies tailored to the student’s communication methods.

Responsibilities include ensuring access to instruction, facilitating concept development, and collaborating with teachers on progress and modifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree or completion of two years (60 semester credit hours) or passing score on para-educator exam.
• CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training certifications or ability to obtain within required timeline.
• ASL or Braille skills are preferred for collaborating with deaf/hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities

• Provide access to instruction using the student’s mode of communication (auditory, visual, or tactual).
• Facilitate concept development and development of receptive/expressive communication skills.
• Support development of trusting relationships to promote social and emotional well-being.
• Help form relationships and increase social participation in activities.
• Assist in lifting, caring for students (toileting, feeding, hygiene).
• Communicate with teachers and IEP team on modifications and progress.
