Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead DDSAI strategies in Immunology, partnering with DDSAI and IMM TA teams to translate data science, AI, and digital health into practical solutions that advance decision making and development outcomes.

You will collaborate with Translational Science, Discovery, Late Development, Medical Affairs, and Data Platforms to drive scalable, reusable analytics capabilities and evaluate emerging technologies like generative

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related scientific discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience (PhD is a plus).
• Experience in pharmaceutical R&D, biotechnology, healthcare, data science, AI, analytics, or related field for 4+ years.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional/matrixed environments.
• Experience translating scientific or business needs into practical data/AI-enabled solutions.
• Familiarity with emerging AI technologies, including generative AI and agentic systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute scientific and strategic input to Immunology R&D DDSAI priorities across projects and collaborations.
• Define, evaluate, and execute data science, digital health, AI, and analytics initiatives aligned with Immunology R&D objectives.
• Collaborate to design and implement data science use cases, develop roadmaps from pilot to scale, and identify reusable capabilities.
• Develop understanding of imaging, digital health, clinical, and real-world data assets, aligning use cases with datasets and partners.
• Map and analyze workflows to identify improvements, automation opportunities, and future-state solutions.
• Partner with platform and engineering teams to shape scalable data, analytics, and digital capabilities that are reusable and interoperable.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies including generative AI and agentic workflows to assess impact on Immunology R&D.
• Contribute to data innovation and portfolio intelligence by identifying data assets and capability opportunities.
• Perform analyses and communicate recommendations to support decision making.
• Other responsibilities in support of DDSAI objectives and broader R&D priorities.
