George Washington University in Washington, DC is seeking VISTA Fellows to support school and community partnerships within DC public schools. The role focuses on liaison work with volunteers, families, and community partners to advance student success and enrichment programs.

The VISTA will build data tools, coordinate trainings, and help plan school events during a full-time, 12-month service term under GWServes AmeriCorps VISTA.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and project management skills required.
• Education level: Some college; 18+ years old; available for 12 months.

Job description

George Washington University (GW) is seeking VISTAs to serve as School Community Partnerships VISTA Fellows in DC public schools. The VISTAs will liaise with employee volunteer programs, college volunteers, families, community and faith-based organizations to support student success and enrichment programs in the school. VISTAs will create and maintain assessments, databases, and communication tools. VISTAs will build education-related knowledge and experience, as well as partnership development, project management, and communication skills. The year-long project term is somewhat variable, based on the start date. We are seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented and comfortable taking initiative, and have strong communications and project management skills. This is a full-time (40hrs a week) 12 month service term with the GWServes AmeriCorps VISTA Program.
