United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) seeks an AmeriCorps VISTA member to strengthen grassroots nonprofits through capacity building, data analysis, and resource development. The VISTA will assess nonprofit needs, collect and analyze data, and help develop training materials, workshops, resource libraries, and evaluation systems.

The member will also research funding opportunities, support grant prospecting and donor systems, and help connect organizations with grants, scholarships,

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Experience in community outreach or nonprofit settings is a plus.
Strong communication and grant writing skills are preferred.

Preventative Measures Foundation VISTA- UWGLV

United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) is committed to improving lives and community conditions. We strive to create population level change in the areas of education, community stability, and healthy aging and ensure individuals who experience crises have the supports they need to rebound. We focus on strengthening the networks of providers that deliver services to address these concerns and through staff of UWGLV who lead efforts across all three-issue areas, we address issues at the programmatic and systemic levels seeking to identify and deal with the root causes. We utilize the collective impact framework as a method for this problem solving of complex social issues and we embrace and promote practices as an asset towards creating positive change.

Member Duties :

The Preventive Measures Foundation (PMF) is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA member to strengthen grassroots nonprofits through capacity building, resource development, and improved organizational systems. The VISTA will assess nonprofit needs, collect and analyze data, and help develop training materials, workshops, resource libraries, and evaluation systems. The member will also research funding opportunities, support grant prospecting and donor systems, and help connect organizations with grants, scholarships, and other resources. Additional responsibilities include supporting communications, organizing engagement data, developing reports and dashboards, documenting processes, and establishing feedback systems for continuous improvement. Through this service, the VISTA will help nonprofits strengthen their capacity, sustainability, and ability to respond effectively to community needs.
