The State of Connecticut, Division of Criminal Justice, is seeking a full-time DCJ Investigator in New London, CT. The role supports preparation of criminal and motor vehicle cases for prosecution, and involves coordinating with police, witnesses and victims while handling digital evidence and case documentation.

Candidates should have law enforcement experience, and a bachelor’s degree may substitute for General Experience.

Competenze

• Two (2) years of experience as a law enforcement officer.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related fields may be substituted for the General Experience.

Mansioni

• Assist in preparation of criminal and motor vehicle cases for prosecution and trial.
• Investigate or assist in post-arrest investigations within the assigned prosecutorial office.
• Screen, review, prioritize, and prepare motor vehicle and criminal files.
• Interview and take statements from police, witnesses, and victims.
• Obtain relevant documentation (police reports, hospital records, toxicology reports).
• Locate individuals and prepare case chronology for prosecutor.
• Prepare necessary reports and assist with pretrial diversion decisions.
• Brief victims and witnesses prior to court appearances.
