Job summary

Park Rapids Area High School seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support in the DCD room and assist teachers with instructional activities. This is a full-time, 9-month position running 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 school year.

The ideal candidate will provide individualized student support, help with classroom management, and contribute to a positive learning environment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with experience in educational technology

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with children in educational settings is desirable.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparation of instructional materials and activities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with curriculum engagement.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment.
• Support students with IEPs and special needs.
• Collaborate with staff to implement teaching strategies.
• Assist with classroom management and positive discipline.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Perform administrative tasks such as grading and record-keeping.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
