Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Park Rapids Area High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at High School as a Paraprofessional to support in the DCD room. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist in the implementation of instructional programs, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.

9 month position. 6.5 hrs a day, Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 School year.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
• Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Support students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Assist with classroom management and discipline in a positive and constructive manner.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Perform administrative tasks such as grading assignments and maintaining student records.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the educational experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Familiarity with educational technology and classroom management techniques.
