Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior DCC Operator to monitor and manage outage events across the distribution grid in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. You will coordinate field resources, ensure accurate data in OMS/DMS, and support restoration efforts with SCADA and DMS tools.

Working closely with the Grid Management team, you will issue safety tags, manage switching activities, and contribute to emergency response operations while progressing through Operator Training Certification to Operator II.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical diploma preferred.
• Experience with utility operations and grid management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct outage dispatching for feeder level outages and substation outages.
• Review outage information and dispatch field resources to restore power.
• Model and verify outage data in OMS and DMS.
• Maintain accurate distribution model in OMS/DMS for optimization.
• Authorize and document tags (HLT, Clearance, DNO) in OMS/DMS.
• Support emergency switching orders for large outages.
• Assist in directing restoration efforts during abnormal events.
