Job summary

Responsibilities

• Order and install replacement parts in servers and return defective parts to vendors.
• Update server firmware to the latest version.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network admins with server-related issues, including replacing cables and re-routing connections.
• Upgrade and install server components and rack/stack servers or switches for remote configuration.

Pay Rate: $40 - 48 /hr on W2 (all inclusive)

The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

• Basic Troubleshooting skills - servers, use of various cables connectors, Network and cooling systems.
• Basic Linux command experience
• Excellent Communication skills and technical inclination.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in a Data Center.
• Experience with various types of cables connectors
• Basic experience with Linux commands
• Understanding of basic safety and security protocols
• Troubleshoot various server issues and isolate root causes.
• Order and install replacement parts in servers; return defective parts to vendors.
• Update server firmware to the latest version.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network administrators with server-related issues, including:
• Replacing broken or damaged cables.
• Re-routing cables to different server or switch ports.
• Replacing optics on server and switch ports.
• Upgrading and installing server components.
• Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches in cabinets and cable them for remote configuration by network admins.
• Respond to network admin requests for specific server or switch assistance.
