Job summary

Akkodis in Reno, NV is seeking a technically adept data center technician for a 12‑month contract. You will troubleshoot servers, install components, update firmware, configure IPs, and support network admins with hands‑on server and switch tasks.

The role requires 0–2 years in a data center, basic Linux CLI skills, and solid communication. You will work with various cables, connectors, and hardware to keep critical infrastructure running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server issues and identify root causes.
• Order, install, and replace server components; return defective parts to vendors.

• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Support network administrators with server‑related tasks, including replacing cables and upgrading server hardware.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server issues and identify root causes
• Order, install, and replace server components; return defective parts to vendors
• Update and maintain server firmware
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers
• Support network administrators with server‑related tasks, including:
  • Replacing broken or damaged cables
  • Re‑routing cables to different server or switch ports
  • Replacing optics on server and switch ports
  • Upgrading and installing server hardware components
  • Rack, stack, cable, and temporarily deploy servers or switches for remote configuration
  • Respond to network administrator requests for hands‑on server and switch support
