Job summary

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, a premier global law firm, seeks a Senior Security Specialist to oversee the Washington DC office's physical security operations. You will coordinate with building security, manage routine rounds, and support firm-wide security initiatives, including events and travel security.

You will bring at least five years of corporate security experience, strong knowledge of security technologies, and excellent communication to brief senior leadership on risks and mitigation

Qualifications

• 5+ years corporate or private-sector security experience.
• Strong knowledge of physical security principles and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to brief senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work nights and weekends during incidents or events.
• High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily physical security operations for the Washington DC office.
• Act as boots on the ground security presence and interface with building security.
• Lead incident response for local security events and coordinate escalation.
• Monitor local intelligence sources and assess threats; respond as needed.
• Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, first responders, and security professionals.
• Oversee access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems in coordination with security leadership.
• Support Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and life safety drills for the DC office.
• Advise local leadership on risks, mitigation strategies, and recommendations.
• Develop and enforce firm-wide security policies and standards.
• Provide on-site security management for high-profile events and executive travel.
• Contribute to the growth and governance of the firm’s global security program.
