Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Safety Specialist for our Grand Prairie Distribution Center in Texas to lead all safety activities on site. You will train new associates, administer programs, monitor environments for safety compliance, and document incidents.

Collaborate with the Safety Manager to foster a strong safety culture across operations. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or 3 years of safety experience, with preferred warehouse distribution exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 3 years of safety specific experience.
• Preferred experience in a warehouse supply chain distribution environment.
• Willing to work varied shifts including night shift and rare weekends if needed.
• Ability to create and train using Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Hazard recognition skills to identify risk and implement corrective action plans.
• Ability to coach, mentor and correct unsafe behavior in real time.
• Able to lift 50 lbs occasionally in a warehouse.
• Certification in OSHA safety procedures preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Exceptional presentation and written skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Train new associates in safety procedures and standards.
• Administer safety training and health and safety programs.
• Monitor environment to ensure work areas meet safety requirements.
• Ensure safe operation of powered industrial equipment per guidelines.
• Document safety incidents and assist with investigations.
• Lead Safety Committee meetings and publish minutes.
• Compile data on location incidents and lost time.
• Oversee injury treatment plans and claims handling.
• Coordinate with workers' comp carrier as needed.
• Align with Region Safety Manager for consistency.
• Support onboarding programs and OSHA compliance audits.
