Job summary

Eaton Research Labs (ERL) is seeking an Engineering Specialist to lead research in future DC power systems, including data center architectures and DC distribution. This role focuses on applying power electronics and power systems knowledge to next-generation DC applications for data centers, grids, resiliency, and electrification.

The successful candidate will work on-site at our Golden, Colorado research facility and may relocate if currently residing in the USA.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 9+ years of industry experience in researching, developing and designing technology solutions in relevant areas.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience in researching, developing and designing technology solutions.
• Eaton does not sponsor immigration employment visas for this position.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• If non-local, relocation to Golden Colorado is required. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced research programs focused on next-generation DC power systems.
• Develop control, protection, and resiliency strategies for DC and hybrid AC/DC systems.
• Lead government-funded and internally funded research projects.
• Collaborate with Eaton businesses, universities, national laboratories, and industry partners.
• Author patents, invention disclosures, technical reports, and publications.
• Present technical results to leadership, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and researchers.
