Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. seeks a Risk & Vulnerability Assessment SME to join our on-site team for a Department of Education contract in Washington, DC.

This full-time role requires deep domain expertise in risk assessment and security practices to support complex federal environments. You will provide technical guidance across assessment activities, coordinate with stakeholders, and lead critical tasks to ensure secure and compliant operations while interfacing with senior management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Risk & Vulnerability Assessment experience.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or Cybersecurity.
• Senior industry professional certification such as a CISSP or equivalent.
• Great verbal and written communications.
• Domain and expert technical knowledge.
• Decision making and domain knowledge is a critical qualification due to the impact on overall project implementation.
• Experience managing a team preferred.
• Holds a DOE security clearance/Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge in a specific area.
• Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and environments.
• Participate in all phases of software development with emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.
• Apply principles and knowledge to arrive at automated solutions in engineering and related fields.
• Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
• Establish goals and plans to meet project objectives.
• Direct activities for a client with responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing.
• Interact in client negotiations and interface with senior management.
