Job summary

Michaels, a major North American arts and crafts retailer, is seeking a Material Handler in its Distribution Center to support inbound and outbound freight, accurate order fulfillment, and safe operations.

Activities include receiving, labeling, putaway, order picking, and possibly operating RF guns or powered equipment. Candidates should have basic math and record-keeping skills and be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for certain roles.
• High school education or equivalency preferred.
• Prior use of manual and/or powered industrial equipment preferred.
• Basic warehouse and/or Distribution Center knowledge recommended; demonstrated success working in a production environment is helpful.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs one or more functions in a Distribution Center environment related to fulfilling orders for stores or other DCs.
• May utilize manual and/or powered equipment and RF guns to perform tasks.
• Documents production logs to ensure productivity records are accurate.
• Completes other assigned duties per business needs.
