Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee, maintain, and repair equipment in a large warehouse environment. You will troubleshoot electric lift equipment, conveyors, and related mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems while performing preventative maintenance.

The role requires a trade school degree or equivalent, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and a flexible schedule that may include weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• 20% Performs preventative maintenance and necessary modifications on equipment and buildings.
• 10% Provides equipment status reports including unusual maintenance problems.
• 10% Follows safety guidelines per manufacturer, Home Depot, and government agencies; adheres to OSHA standards.
• 10% Maintains a safe, clean work area with daily cleanups.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Oversees, maintains, and repairs equipment as well as other facility structures in a complex, warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• 50% Troubleshoots and repairs electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, as well as technical, mechanical hydraulic and pheumatic issues where needed. Understands and troubleshoots conveyor operating system logic
• 20% Performs preventative maintenance as well as necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings.
• 10% Provides equipment status report, including details of unusual maintenance problems.
• 10% Follows all safety guidelines established by manufacturer, Home Depot, or government agencies. Adheres to all safety codes and OSHA standards
• 10% Maintains safe and clean working environment, performing daily cleanup of work areas

• This position reports to Area Supervisor.

Travel Requirements:

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

• Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
