Job summary

The Home Depot in McCalla, AL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee, maintain, and repair equipment and facility systems inside a large warehouse environment. You will troubleshoot electric lift equipment, conveyors, and related mechanical systems.

Daily duties include preventative maintenance, reporting status of issues, adhering to safety guidelines (OSHA), and keeping work areas clean. Flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• 50% Troubleshoots and repairs electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, as well as technical, mechanical hydraulic and pheumatic issues where needed.
• 20% Performs preventative maintenance as well as necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings.
• 10% Provides equipment status report, including details of unusual maintenance problems.
• 10% Follows all safety guidelines established by manufacturer, Home Depot, or government agencies. Adheres to all safety codes and OSHA standards
• 10% Maintains safe and clean working environment, performing daily cleanup of work areas

Position Purpose:

Oversees, maintains, and repairs equipment as well as other facility structures in a complex, warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• 50% Troubleshoots and repairs electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, as well as technical, mechanical hydraulic and pheumatic issues where needed. Understands and troubleshoots conveyor operating system logic
• 20% Performs preventative maintenance as well as necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings.
• 10% Provides equipment status report, including details of unusual maintenance problems.
• 10% Follows all safety guidelines established by manufacturer, Home Depot, or government agencies. Adheres to all safety codes and OSHA standards
• 10% Maintains safe and clean working environment, performing daily cleanup of work areas

• This position reports to Area Supervisor.

Travel Requirements:

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

• Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
