Job summary

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law offers a spring 2027 in-person internship in our Washington, DC office. Law students will support Liberty and National Security policy advocacy, research, and litigation initiatives through legal research, drafting, and outreach activities.

We seek candidates with strong research, analysis, and writing skills and a demonstrated passion for democracy and constitutional protections.

Qualifications

• Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills.

• Passion for Liberty & National Security issues.
• Open to a wide range of candidates with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and policy research and draft advocacy documents (amicus briefs, policy reports).
• Draft communications to legislators at federal, state, and local levels.
• Assist with writing comments to federal agencies and attend coalition meetings.
• Draft posts for the Brennan Center blog and other outreach materials.
