Job summary

The Brennan Center for Justice in Washington, DC, is seeking law students for the Summer 2025 LNS Legal Internship to support policy advocacy, research, and litigation initiatives. This in-person internship is centered in our DC office and involves work across federal, state, and local levels.

Intern duties include legal research, drafting amicus briefs and policy reports, drafting communications to legislators, attending coalition meetings, and contributing to blog posts.

Qualifications

• Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills; initiative, imagination, and versatility; and a passion for our issues.
• This internship is only open to current law students.
• In-person internship in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Support policy advocacy, research, and litigation initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and write amicus briefs, policy reports, and other advocacy documents.
• Draft communications to legislators and comments to federal agencies.
• Attend coalition meetings and contribute to the Brennan Center blog and other items.
