DC Kids Elementary Coordinator
Part Time
Work Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday + third Wednesdays (DC Family Night)
Location: Disciples Church – Tinley Park, IL
Disciples Church is seeking an organized, dependable, and ministry-minded DC KidsElementary Coordinator to help lead engaging, safe, and well-prepared ministryexperiences for elementary-age children.
Working under the direction of the DC Kids Director, this role provides hands‑onleadership for the Elementary ministry, including weekly programming, volunteerdevelopment, curriculum preparation, classroom environments, and ministry administration.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day execution of the DC Kids Elementary ministry under thedirection of the DC Kids Director
- Coordinate Elementary programming and ministry environments for Sundayservices, Family Night, and other DC Kids events
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, support, and develop Elementary volunteers
- Build relationships with volunteers, parents, and church members to help identify and recruit new team members
- Ensure prospective volunteers complete required onboarding steps, includingGrowth Track, orientation, and ministry-specific training
- Communicate schedules, service details, expectations, and ministry updates to theElementary team
- Provide ongoing leadership and support to volunteers, escalating significantconcerns to the DC Kids Director as appropriate
- Prepare, adapt, and organize curriculum, lesson materials, activities, crafts, worshipcontent, and supplies for weekly programming
- Ensure Elementary classrooms and ministry spaces are clean, organized, stocked,welcoming, and ready for children and volunteers
- Execute Elementary programming for special DC Kids initiatives and events basedon the direction of the DC Kids Director
- Complete weekly service reports and assist with ministry-related administrativeneeds, including ordering supplies, preparing materials, organizing resources, andresponding to communication
- Stay knowledgeable about churchwide programs, events, policies, procedures, andpriorities
- Be prepared to teach, assist in a classroom, support check-in/registration, or servein another DC Kids area when needed
- Provide appropriate leadership for Elementary ministry needs when the DC KidsDirector is unavailable
- Work collaboratively with the DC Kids Director, Primary Coordinator, and otherstaff to support a consistent and excellent DC Kids experience
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for helping children know Jesus and grow in their faith
- Experience serving or working with children, preferably in a church, ministry,school, or similar environment
- Experience leading, coordinating, or supporting volunteers
- Organized, dependable, positive, flexible, and solution-oriented
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable building relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
- Able to work independently while functioning well as part of a team
- Professional, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and able to handle conflict withmaturity
- Willing to step into different ministry responsibilities when needed
Preferred Skills
- Previous children’s ministry experience
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, training, or scheduling volunteers
- Experience with Planning Center or similar church management software
- Familiarity with ProPresenter, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, orsimilar tools
- Experience preparing or adapting children’s ministry curriculum
