WindBorne Systems in Washington, DC is seeking a DC Government Affairs Strategist to deepen relationships across federal agencies, the Hill, and defense circles. The role synthesizes signals into concise leadership briefings and ensures WindBorne sits at the right rooms early.

You will work to build strategic intelligence, coordinate with advisors, and identify opportunities while navigating a fast-growing hardware and weather intelligence company.

Qualifications

• Develop and maintain a deep, active DC network across defense, intelligence, civil agencies, Capitol Hill, think tanks, and industry.
• Former government experience with high-quality network and understanding of how government works.
• Strong judgement and curiosity to learn WindBorne’s technology and fit across use cases.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network across defense, intelligence, civil agencies (NOAA, NASA, DOE, DHS), Capitol Hill, think tanks, and industry.
• Gather early signals on policy shifts, procurement changes, budget dynamics, and personnel moves relevant to WindBorne’s government customers and prospects.
• Synthesize what you’re hearing into concise, actionable briefings for leadership.
• Coordinate with existing government advisors, lobbyists, and consultants to avoid silos.
• Identify and vet advisory board members, partners, and hires from your network.
• Spot emerging opportunities (new programs, shifting priorities, upcoming solicitations) and position WindBorne early.
