Job summary

WindBorne Systems seeks a strategic intelligence advisor to deepen relationships across defense, intelligence, civil agencies, and Capitol Hill. You will translate signals into actionable briefings for leadership, bridging WindBorne's tech with government needs.

This role offers flexible structure — advisory or part-time initially, with potential for full-time. Washington, DC-based with occasional travel to our HQ in Redwood City, CA.

Qualifications

• Deep active DC network across defense/intelligence, civil agencies, Capitol Hill, think tanks, or industry.
• Former government experience with understanding of how government works.
• Ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous information into clear insights quickly.
• Comfortable operating independently with minimal direction and context from WindBorne.
• Nice to have: familiarity with weather, environmental intelligence; relationships at NOAA/NGA or combatant commands.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network across defense, intelligence, civil agencies, Capitol Hill, think tanks, and industry.
• Gather early signals on policy shifts, procurement changes, budget dynamics, and personnel moves relevant to government customers.
• Synthesize information into concise, actionable leadership briefings.
• Coordinate with existing government advisors, lobbyists, and consultants to avoid silos.
• Identify and vet potential advisory board members, partners, and hires from your network.
• Spot emerging opportunities and position WindBorne early.
