Job summary

Actalent is seeking a DC Electronics Inspector in Mount Pleasant, PA, to perform in-process inspections of complex electrical and mechanical assemblies for a data center infrastructure project. The role emphasizes detailed checks, tablet-based documentation, and adherence to quality procedures on a production floor with large transformers and cabinets.

The candidate should have hands-on technical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow structured inspection procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of inspection or quality control experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret inspection criteria and drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspections at multiple manufacturing touchpoints on electrical and mechanical assemblies to verify quality throughout the build process.
  • Inspect large power distribution cabinets, transformer assemblies, and related data center infrastructure equipment to confirm they meet engineering and customer requirements.
  • Review and complete 6–8 pages of inspection criteria for each cabinet assembly, ensuring all inspection checkpoints are addressed accurately and thoroughly.
  • Verify assembly quality and workmanship, including hardware installation, labeling, torque markings, and overall product conformance to specifications.
  • Use calipers and other basic measuring instruments to perform dimensional inspections and confirm critical measurements.
  • Utilize a company‑issued tablet to document inspection results, complete electronic inspection records, and maintain accurate digital documentation.
  • Identify, document, and classify non‑conformances, and clearly communicate findings to production and quality teams for timely resolution.
  • Ensure all inspected products comply with manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and established quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recognizing recurring quality issues and providing feedback to improve processes and standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Follow written work instructions, specifications, and inspection procedures to perform consistent, repeatable inspections.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on the production floor to address quality concerns and support on‑time delivery of compliant products.

Job Description

The DC Electronics Inspector supports a large-scale data center infrastructure project by performing detailed in-process inspections of complex electrical and mechanical assemblies. This role ensures that products consistently meet quality standards, engineering requirements, and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process. The position is highly visible on the production floor and is ideal for someone with hands‑on technical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow structured inspection procedures while working around large transformer and cabinet assemblies.

Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience in inspection, assembly, testing, manufacturing, quality control, automotive repair, machining, construction, or related technical fields.
  • Ability to read and use basic measuring tools such as calipers for dimensional inspection.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical assemblies and how components fit and function together.
  • Familiarity with electrical components, wiring, or electromechanical systems in a production or technical environment.
  • Comfort working on the production floor around large transformer and cabinet assemblies and related power distribution equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift while inspecting products across the production floor.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document inspection findings and non‑conformances.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions, specifications, and inspection procedures consistently.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work from electronic documentation and digital inspection records.
  • Comfort using a tablet or similar device to record inspection data and complete electronic forms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or working knowledge of IPC 620 standards related to cable and wire harness assemblies.
  • Experience performing in-process, incoming, or final inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with cable assemblies, harnesses, transformers, power distribution equipment, or electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Previous experience in roles such as Electronics Inspector, Quality Inspector, Assembly Technician, Test Technician, Machinist, Automotive Technician, Incoming Inspector, Construction Technician, or Mechanical Assembler.
  • Interest in supporting critical infrastructure that powers next‑generation data centers.
  • Desire to work with advanced electrical and electromechanical systems in a quality‑focused environment.
Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, organized electronics manufacturing facility focused on high‑quality production for data center infrastructure. Employees work around electronic assemblies, cable and harness systems, power distribution equipment, and electromechanical products. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to quality and process compliance, with frequent movement between workstations, production cells, and inspection areas on the production floor. The position requires comfort working around large transformer and cabinet assemblies and being on your feet for much of the shift while performing inspections and documenting results using electronic tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
