Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated Naval Architect to design and analyze hovercraft, ships, and other maritime systems using CFD and FEA to optimize performance and safety. Must be located within commutable distance to Washington DC for periodic on‑site collaboration.

You will perform CFD/FEA analyses, collaborate with engineers and CAD designers, and present technical results. Strong written and verbal communication are essential for reports and stakeholder presentations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or closely related field.
3+ years of naval architecture experience focusing on CFD.
Proficiency with CFD and FEA software.
Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and maritime systems.
Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform naval architecture design and analysis for hovercraft, ships, and marine systems.
Conduct CFD and FEA to assess performance and optimize design.
Collaborate with project teams including engineers, PMs, and CAD designers.
Develop POA&Ms and manage task timelines with minimal supervision.
Document findings and present results to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
