Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in Princeton, IL is seeking an Area Manager to execute daily production plans across assigned departments and lead a team of Associates. You will provide direction, drive performance, and ensure safety and orderly operations within the distribution center.

Responsibilities include coaching, training, scheduling in Kronos, reporting, and maintaining high standards while coordinating with other managers to meet daily business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Higher education in business management preferred, but not required.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience in a mid-size to large distribution center, or demonstrated learning via internal development.
• Ability to manage in a professional work environment.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Sound judgment and planning abilities.
• Ability to learn and communicate new information to associates.
• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills including Excel are required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and guidance for all areas of the assigned department.
• Develop and support a team-oriented environment.
• Ensure an orderly and neatly maintained area.
• Develop and deliver the daily production plan to Associates.
• Achieve performance goals consistently.
• Ensure department level compliance with safety and facility standards.
• Track incentive in Excel for Associates working with the assigned department.
• Direct work of the team to meet daily business needs.
• Proactively establish and carry out shrinkage control disciplines and programs.
• Communicate effectively with other Area Managers and Supervisors in the Distribution Center.
• Complete all internal reporting processes timely and accurately.
• Interview, select and train Associates.
• Coach, counsel and progressive discipline up to termination as appropriate.
• Accurately maintain Associates’ hours in Kronos.
• Complete any additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
