Job summary

Nuveen, a TIAA company, is seeking a Product Manager for Alternatives to drive end-to-end development and launch of DC-focused alternative investment products in the Chicago area.

You will partner with Retirement Product, distribution, and management to refine product strategies, assess market opportunities, and ensure regulatory and governance alignment across initiatives. This role emphasizes collaboration, strategy, and execution in a dynamic investment environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Required.
• Minimum 5+ years of defined contribution or alternative investments product development experience.
• 7+ years of defined contribution or alternative investments product development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads end-to-end development and launch of alternative investment products for DC channel, including proprietary and partnership-based solutions.
• Creates strategic product plans evaluating alternative vehicles (CITs and other structures) with implementation, marketing, and sales components.
• Acts as subject matter expert on alternative products for the DC channel, engaging with plan sponsors, consultants, and clients for due diligence and new business purposes.
• Collaborates with Retirement Product team and distribution to align strategy, positioning, and go-to-market execution.
• Drives launch and implementation of new DC products by coordinating cross-functional teams and governing approvals.
• Develops deep knowledge of DC investment vehicles, especially CITs, and related regulatory/operational requirements.
• Evaluates competitive positioning and identifies gaps, recommending internal development or partnerships.
• Leads product positioning with clear investment rationale and client-facing materials for DC portfolios.
• Ensures products comply with regulatory requirements and risk governance standards.
